I. Getting to the Shangri-La Hotel from Beijing’s Two Major Airports
Beijing has two main airports: Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) and Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX).
The Shangri-La Hotel Beijing is located at 29 Zizhuyuan Road, Haidian District, near Zhongguancun and the Summer Palace.
Option A: From Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK)
- Distance: Approx. 30 km
- Travel time: 40–60 minutes
- By taxi or ride-hailing (most convenient)
- Pick-up point: Follow the airport signs to the taxi stand (clearly marked at all terminal exits).
- Fare: Approximately CNY 120–150 (including toll fees).
- Tip: Show the driver the hotel address in Chinese:
北京市海淀区紫竹院路29号北京香格里拉饭店(紫竹桥附近) - Ride-hailing: You may book via the DiDi app (available in English; registration with an overseas mobile number required).
Option B: From Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX)
- Distance: Approx. 50 km
- Travel time: 60–80 minutes
- By taxi or ride-hailing
- Fare: Approximately CNY 180–220 (including toll fees).
- Note: A 20% night surcharge applies between 23:00 and 05:00.

- Payment Methods
- Currency exchange is available at bank counters in both airports.
- Taxis accept cash; ride-hailing services require a linked credit card. Carry small bills for convenience.
- Alipay and WeChat Pay can be linked to international credit cards (accepted in most but not all locations).

- Purchase a short-term SIM card or rent a portable Wi-Fi device at the airport for easy navigation and connectivity.

- Download a translation app (e.g., Google Translate).
- English is spoken at the hotel front desk.

- Walking distance: Zizhuyuan Park, National Library of China.
